London
I have 20 years’ experience of copyediting/proofreading research-based reports, leaflets, campaign documents and blogs. Conscientious and hard-working, I can make text clear and accessible to various audiences while ensuring it flows, is grammatical, compelling, factually consistent and succinct. I am a fast worker who is ready to make your life easier but always happy to take a collaborative approach. I have extensive experience of working with colleagues for whom English is a second language.
London and the South East – although happy to travel if required.
Experienced filmmaker, media relations consultant and senior freelance television news and current affairs producer. Whatever story your organisation wants to tell I can help you to get your voice heard. With over 20 years experience as a news journalist, I know what stories work and why and with contacts across UK media outlets I’m well placed to pitch stories to ensure maximum news coverage and impact. I still regularly freelance for Good Morning Britain, Sky News and ITV News.
Remote working, and North East
I specialise in writing about medical research for lay audiences. With more than eight years working in the charity sector, I help charities turn complex information into something understandable and engaging. Work I have done includes writing and editing webpages, blog posts, lay summaries of research projects, and contributing to pitches and reports to charity donors.
Primarily London and South East. Open to offers elsewhere.
An experienced and decisive communications and marketing leader who is trusted by major not-for-profit organizations to help them achieve business change by crafting and delivering effective corporate communications and stakeholder engagement. Key strengths include shaping and incorporating stakeholder requirements into comprehensive communications plans to support lasting cultural change, eliciting requirements from stakeholders and supporting them to ensure that solutions meet their unique needs, and combining authoritative strategic planning with hands-on delivery to seamlessly develop and execute effective communications programmes.
Liverpool/London
I work with clients who want to make something happen — whether among decision-makers, in a division lobby, or at the ballot box. Some want to influence opinion on an issue in the news and I quickly create quality content like speeches, think pieces, and press releases. Others want to shape people’s views long-term, which I do with an overarching strategy. Underlying all my work is a belief in outcome over output. Foreign affairs is my area of expertise.
I have created and edited award-winning content for some of the UK’s biggest names. Projects include print magazines, annual reports, customer mailings and digital content such as e-newsletters, web pages and blogs. Most recently, I have been responsible for editing members’ magazines for a diverse range of membership organisations and charities.

The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
